Story, powers & world
A former student wakes inside a shell with memories of a classroom and no useful explanation of her surroundings. She has to gather evidence about what she is before she can decide what to do. The opening separates a familiar mind from the possibilities and limits of a small body.

Opening recap4 notes
- A memory explains very little
She remembers being at school and experiencing sudden pain. She cannot immediately place the enclosure or explain why her body feels wrong. The preview shows what she recalls without establishing the full cause of the transition.
- Escape is the first experiment
She initially treats the enclosing material as a possible bag. Pushing through the cracked surface gets her outside and gives her enough information to reconsider that explanation.
- The other hatchlings identify her situation
She sees many large spiders emerging around her. Their bodies and the eggs supply clues to what just happened, and she realizes that she herself has been reborn as a spider.
- Growing leaves her vulnerable to larger predators
The second volume’s synopsis confirms that she learns skills and evolves into a slightly larger spider. A snake chases her into a deeper part of the labyrinth where the threats are stronger.
Powers & world rules4 notes
- Old memories survive, while bodily knowledge has to be learned
She can recall people and talk from class. Those memories do not immediately tell her how to interpret her new body or surroundings. Physical observation corrects her first guess.
- A small body changes the scale of danger
Yen Press describes her as one of the weaker monsters in the labyrinth. The opening gives her an immediate problem of survival before she understands her position in the larger world.
- Skills and body growth are both possible
The publisher distinguishes the skills she gradually learns from an evolution that changes her size. Neither detail establishes a complete skill tree, an upgrade cost or a guaranteed safe encounter.
- A predator can change the route
The snake does more than threaten her health. Its pursuit drives her down into a different part of the labyrinth. Progress can put her in a more dangerous area despite her improvement.

Small Enough to Escape
Original game concept
A small-creature survival puzzle where the body determines which paths and tools exist. Learn a movement rule, choose a temporary refuge and get away before a predator changes the route.
Core loop
- Probe a surface or opening to learn what the body can cross, anchor to or fit through.
- Spend a short supply of filament on a foothold, a distraction or a return line while a larger predator moves.
- Reach a refuge, mark a safer route and decide whether a body change is worth losing access to narrow passages.
- What the player decides
- Keep the small body that fits the vent or gain a stronger anchor that makes crossing the open ledge safer. Growth opens a route and closes another.
- First playable test
- Two linked rooms, a floor route and a ceiling route, three filament placements, and one patrolling predator. Give the smaller body a real advantage in at least one room.
